1. How do I charge my device?
It is important to charge the device fully before first use (takes 2-2.5hrs). Remove the charger and charging cable from the flap of the box. Extend the charger and insert the sensor in the right direction(charger pins and device pins to make contact). Insert the charging cable into the Micro USB port and use your laptop/power bank/mobile charger head to charge your device. You should notice the Yellow charging LED turn on. Please note, the charging LED is small, circular and present at the top corner.
2. How much time does it take to charge my str8bat sensor?
It takes 1.5 to 2 hours to charge your str8bat cricket bat sensor.
3. Why is the charger not fitting into my device?
There is a spring action in the charger (your charger is stretchable). Pull it and align it properly with your sensor’s charging terminals.
4. How long does the device last after full charge?
Your str8bat sensor comes with an active playtime of 5 hours 30 mins on full charge.
5. How can I know whether my device is fully charged or not?
There is a small green charging LED placed on top left corner on your str8bat device, the LED will be ON while charging, the charging LED goes OFF once the device is fully charged.
6. Can I put my device to charge overnight?
It is not advisable to charge your str8bat over night because it could affect your sensor performance. Please plug out the charging port after your sensor has finished charging, which should take about two hours.
7. Having trouble charging your str8bat device?

8. How do I turn my device on?
Once the device is sufficiently charged, remove it from the charger and swing the device in your hand to wake it up. If the device is already placed on the bat, play a shadow shot (your favorite shot) to wake the device, you can see a green LED blinking which shows the device is ON.
9. My device is not starting what I need to do?
Give a hard swing on the device so that it gets switched on or if the battery is low please connect it to charger and wait for some time so that the device gets charged and swing the device and switch it on.\n
10. How to place the velcro/sticker on the bat?
The str8bat package contains a stencil/template with measurement to place the sticker(velcro) on the bat, then place the device with the correct direction written on the sensor.
11. How do I place str8bat device on the bat?
Use the installation guide/stencil provided in the box and place it around the neck of the bat. Stick the bat sticker below the edge of the template. The bottom of the sticker (which has the notch) should be towards the bottom of the bat. Place the device (once fully charged) on the sticker in the correct direction, i.e, the str8bat logo on the str8bat device should be towards the bottom of your bat, then press it firmly on all sides.
12. What will happen when you place the device in a wrong way?
The device cannot undergo the pitch calibration process which won't allow you to play your game.
13. Why keeping the bat in the right orientation is important?
The shots captured and transferred will be inverted if your bat is not kept in the right orientation.
14. Do I have to calibrate the device every time I play?
Yes, pitch calibration is mandatory everytime before the start of the session.
15. While Calibrating It From The App, How Far Should I Place The Device?
The device and the phone should be in the Bluetooth range.
16. How do I know during the match that the device is calibrated in the right way or not?
If you calibrate in the pitch direction correctly then there will a constant green led on the device. That means calibration is done.
17. How do I register my device?
Please note, registration of the device is mandatory ONLY if you own the device.Switch on Bluetooth and Location on your phone. Open str8bat Cricket app > SYNC > Select your Device ID > Register Device.
18. Do I need to register the device everytime when I play?
Registration of your str8bat device is a one time process, you do not need to register the device every time you play, just pair your device and keep playing.
19. How do I pair my device to my phone?
Switch ON Bluetooth and Location in your phone. Click on smart sync in the str8bat cricket app. Click on the device name you wish to pair and it will get paired to your phone.
20. What do I do if my device isn’t pairing?
Check if bluetooth and location on your phone are turned on. If the issue persists, restart the app.
21. How do I play my first session with str8bat?
Go to the playing area, switch on the sensor and do the process of Pitch Calibration (watch the video). This process of Pitch Calibration has to be done at the start of every str8bat session.
22. How do I transfer data after playing a session?
Once you are done with your session. Switch on the Bluetooth and Location on your phone and click on smart sync and connect the sensor, the shots which are stored in the sensor will automatically gets transferred.

23. "What do i do if my device is not recognised by the app? "
Check if the device is on (The device goes into sleep after a few minutes of inactivity). Restart scan and if it is still not being recognised, restart the app.
24. How will i transfer the data if my phone is not with me during the match or nets?
Even if you do not have your phone, your str8bat device is capable of capturing and storing up-to 600 shots in one go. Once you have your phone handy, click on Smart Sync on the str8bat app and transfer your shots.
25. What do I do if i’m not able to transfer shots or it stops transferring in between?
Retry transfer by pressing the SMART SYNC button. If the remaining shots do not show up, restart the app and repeat the transfer process.
26. How do I play a live session?
Before you start your session, click on Smart SYNC and pair your device if you haven’t already .Click on PLAY LIVE. You are good to go!\n\nPlease note, the PLAY LIVE option will be available only if there are zero shots stored in the sensor. If there are shots stored already, transfer those shots before attempting to PLAY LIVE.
26. How do I play a live session?

27. "While doing live transfer at what distance should I keep the device so that it can work properly? "
The device and the phone should be within the distance of a full length pitch(22 yards or 20 meters) as the transfer of data from the device to app happens through Bluetooth.
28. How to remove my str8bat device from the bat?
The best way to remove your str8bat device from the bat is to peel it off from the bottom centre.Not from the top, sides, or bottom corner but ONLY remove the device from the Bottom Centre (i.e., by holding the notches at the bottom of your device)
29. How do I check and analyze my data?
"Click on SESSIONS in the Str8bat Cricket app, and you will be able to see your sessions. Click on any session, and you will be able to look at the summary stats of that session. By clicking on any of the matrices for ex: Bat speed, Impact speed you will get graphical trends (including past performance) for that metric. Click on REPLAY to view every shot in 3D rendering. Use the next and previous buttons to view all the shots. "
30. What is Bat Speed?
The maximum speed that the bat attains during the entire downswing. It shows how fast you are swinging that bat. The faster the bat speed, the more power that can be generated onto the ball.
31. What is Impact Speed?
The speed of the bat at the point of impact with the ball. You can have a very high bat speed but if your impact speed is low, you are losing momentum as you make impact with the ball.
32. What is Timing Index?
The ratio of impact speed to bat speed. It gives a measure of the balance and stability during the shot – better the balance, higher the timing and hence more chance of the ball traveling the distance.
33. What is Sweetspot Percentage?
A measure of how well the ball was hit based on the vibrations on the bat. A perfectly hit shot has minimal vibrations and a high sweetspot percent. This gives you a number to the feel after you have hit a shot.
34. What is Bat-lift angle?
The widest angle the bat reaches during the course of the back-lift before the downswing.
35. What is an Impact Pitch Map?
A map of where the shots were impacted - on the crease, ahead of the crease or behind the crease.
36. What is Grounded Shots Percentage?
A measure of how many shots were played along the ground or in the air. This is measured by the angle of the face of the bat at the point of impact.
37. What is a Wagonwheel?
A view of where the batter is intending to play the shots - in the 'V', square of the wicket or behind the wicket. This is measured by the angle of the face of the bat at the point of impact.
38. How do I compare 2 shots?
Click on the 3 dots at the top of the screen in the 3D view. You can save any shot that you want to compare by clicking on save. Then, click on Compare Shots. Then, select any 2 shots (using the shot number or the saved shots) and compare your shots. (Eg: in form vs out of form, drills vs nets). You can also click on Compare Shots in the Shot List.
39. What are the different insights I can get using str8bat?
"The insights provided includes Bat speed, Impact Speed,, Sweetspot index, Timing index, Bat Lift Angle, 3D rendering of all the shots, Wagon Wheel, Hits and Misses, grounded or aerial shots, Pitch map showing where you impacted the ball etc. "
40. How do I delete a shot?
To delete a shot, click on the 3 dots in the 3D view and delete the shot. In case some unwanted shots are captured, you can delete them so that they do not affect the averages of the session.
41. How do I use the analytical engine?
"You can custom filter your shots based on various metrics using Pro Analytics which can be accessed by clicking the Pro Analytics option icon present at the bottom right of SESSIONS page. Select any combination of the desired filters to custom filter your shots and look at trends. (Eg: High speed shots , low speed shots, Offside, Legside shots, Session type – Nets, Bowling Machine, Match) "
42. How do I turn off my sensor?
If the device is kept idle for 6 minutes, then it will automatically turn off/ go to sleep. And also you can go to Smart Sync and click on power button to turn off/put the device on sleep.
43. How do I update my str8bat sensor?
Click on smart sync> pair your str8bat device > click on update firmware\nOr\nClick on sensors> Click on Update Now next to your paired sensor You will not see the Update Now button if your device is already up to date
44. How do I share my data with other players and coaches?
Click on SOCIAL > Go to Shared with others > Click on share > Share the sessions from here by entering recipient's email ID.
45. How do I view other people’s sessions that were shared with me?
Head over to SOCIAL > Shared with me and view the sessions of other players that were shared with you.
46. If I share my data on whatsapp, how can someone see my data?
When you share the data on WhatsApp it will send a link to the person whom you are sharing to with the link to download the app, the person should download and register on str8bat to check the shared data in social section.
47. What do I do if I want to use multiple bats in a session?
Make sure all the bats have the sticker(velcro) and you can remove the sensor from one bat and put it on another bat and continue playing, make sure the sensor is on and it is calibrated in the right direction.
48. What can I do if my device is faulty?
You can perform diagnostics by choosing Menu > Device Diagnostics. In case any of the components have failed, please contact support immediately. To contact str8bat, click on Menu > Support and get in touch with us.
49. Is the str8bat sensor waterproof?
Sensor is not waterproof, it is splash proof where you should avoid water on the charging terminals, we suggest you to take care of the sensor just like how you take care of your bat during the rains
50. What is the warranty period and what it covers in the warranty?
1 year warranty for the battery.
